Justine Frischmann
Justine Frischmann (born 16th September 1969) is a British singer and guitarist best known as the lead singer of Britpop band Elastica. She is also the sister of Richard Frischmann.

She studied architecture at The Bartlett, UCL, where she was a founder member of the Britpop band, Suede with her then boyfriend Brett Anderson, also from The Bartlett. Frischmann played lead and rythm guitar for the group, but left in 1991 as she claimed she did not have enough say in to the band's development. She then went on to form Elastica who emerged in 1993 with the single Stutter.

Elastica were sued for copyright infringements on various of their songs before the release of their debut album, including most notably Connection, which uses the same keyboard riff as Wire's Three Girl Rhumba. The cases were settled out of court.

The band struggled to complete a follow up album. In later interviews Frischmann admitted this was a combination of too much partying and her own drug addictions.

Justine split from longterm boyfriend Damon Albarn in 1999 and currently resides in the same West London home that she and Albarn shared during the Britpop period. She is still good friends with Brett Anderson.

In 2003 Justine co-presented a series for the BBC about modern architecture called Dreamspaces. She also wrote the incidental theme tune for Channel 4's Working It.
