Julian Amery
The Right Honourable Harold Julian Amery, Baron Amery of Lustleigh, PC (27 March 1919–3 September 1996) was a British conservative politican. He held a number of government offices, including Secretary of State for Air under the Macmillan government.

His father was Leopold Amery, the British statesman and Conservative politican, while his brother John Amery was a British anti-Communist who was hanged for treason at the close World War II.

He was educated at Eton and Balliol College, Oxford, before starting work as a war correspondent in the Spanish Civil War. Later he worked as an attaché for the British Foreign Office and, after the outbreak of the war, served in both the RAF and the British army.

In 1950 he became MP for Preston North. Also that year, he married Lady Catherine Macmillan, Harold Macmillan's daughter. One of his previous girlfriends had been the novelist, Barbara Pym.
