Brenneman played a family court judge and Daly plays a caseworker for State of Connecticut Department of Children and Family Services. Most of the show took place in Hartford, Connecticut. In what turned out to be the series finale, Brenneman's character quits the judiciary and runs for the U.S. Senate.
