Jubilee Records
Jubilee Records was a record company specializing in rhythm and blues along with novelty records. It was founded by Herb Abramson and Jerry Blaine. Blaine would buy out Abramson. The biggest early hit for Jubilee was "Crying In The Chapel" by The Orioles. A subsidiary label Josie Records was formed in 1954 which issued uptempo material. Hits on Josie include "Speedoo" by The Cadillacs and "Do You Wanna Dance" by Bobby Freeman. Jubilee's most successful albums were of novelty material which included Kermit Schaefer Blooper compilations and adult party records by Rusty Warren. Jubilee/Josie folded in 1970 and the catalog was taken over by Roulette Records.
