Joseph Brant
Thayendanegea or Joseph Brant (sometimes spelled Brandt or Brand) (c. 1742 – 24 November 1807) was a Mohawk leader and British military officer during the American Revolutionary War. Brant was perhaps the most well-known North American Indian of his generation?people now generally called Native Americans in the United States and First Nations in Canada. He met many of the most significant people of the age, including George Washington and King George III.
