Jonathan Palmer
Doctor Jonathan Palmer (born 7 October 1956) was a racing driver from Britain. He won the 1981 British Formula Three Championship and the 1983 Formula Two championship. He participated in 87 Formula One grands prix, debuting on September 25, 1983. He scored a total of 14 championship points. In 1987 he won the Jim Clark Cup for drivers without turbocharged engines, with team-mate Philippe Streiff his main rival.

Before opting for a career in motor racing, Palmer qualified and worked as a doctor in London. After retiring as a driver, Palmer worked as commenttor for the BBC for two seasons with Murray Walker. His style was academic and indepth, although he lacked the ability to connect with ordinary viewers in the way James Hunt or Martin Brundle did

Palmer is the name behind the Formula Palmer Audi open wheel racing series in the UK, and has managed the career of its inaugural champion Justin Wilson for some time.
