Jonathan Ogden


 

Jonathan Phillip Ogden (born July 31, 1974 in Washington, DC) is an American football offensive tackle who currently plays for the Baltimore Ravens.

He received his education at St. Albans School and then UCLA. In college, he was a four-year starter at left tackle and eventually had his jersey (#79) retired - only the fourth player in Bruins' history to receive that honor.

During the 1996 NFL Draft, Ogden was selected by the Ravens in the first round with the fourth overall choice.

In his nine-year career, he has started 136 games (through 2004) and consistently performed as one of the best offensive linemen in the league. Ogden is a nine-time Pro Bowler at left tackle, earning trips to Hawaii from 1997-2005. He has also caught two passes in his career - both for one yard and both for touchdowns.

Ogden won a championship ring with the rest of the Ravens when they defeated the New York Giants 34-7 in Super Bowl XXXV.
