Jonathan Frid

John Herbert Frid is a Hamilton, Ontario, Canada-born actor, who was born on December 2, 1924, and was brought on to play the role of Barnabas Collins - a vampire - on the first incarnation of the low-budget, Gothic TV serial Dark Shadows, to help rescue flagging television ratings.
