John Wiles

John Wiles was the second producer of the popular science fiction serial Doctor Who, succeeding Verity Lambert. He served as producer for four serials between 1965 and 1966, namely The Myth Makers, The Daleks' Master Plan (which lasted for twelve episodes), The Massacre of St Bartholomew's Eve, and The Ark.

His period as producer was not a happy one and he made few changes to the format of the programme. His relationship with William Hartnell was often rocky and difficult and when Wiles sought to remove the lead actor it was Wiles himself who was to leave the programme. He was replaced by Innes Lloyd.
