John Spencer (politician)
John Spencer (born 1946) is the former Mayor of Yonkers, New York. Having served as Mayor 1995-2003. He was term limited out of office in 2003. He is a member of the Republican Party. Spencer is married with five children and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

In 2005, Spencer announced he will be a candidate for United States Senate in 2006, for the seat currently held by Democrat Hillary Clinton who will be seeking a second term. His main primary opponents are Ed Cox, the son in law of former President Richard Nixon, William Brenner and Jeanine Pirro, the current district attorney of Westchester County.
