John Lyon School

John Lyon School (often referred to as John Lyon or JLS) is an independent day school in Harrow-on-the-Hill, England. It was founded by Harrow School in the 1870s in order to provide education for local boys. This was done in keeping with the wishes of the founder of Harrow School John Lyon, who wanted to provide more affordable education for the sons of local residents and businessmen. The school still maintains close ties with Harrow School, with both schools part of a Foundation which includes the two schools and John Lyon's Charity. John Lyon School also makes use of some of Harrow School's facilities. Notable differences however are that John Lyon School is a day school and that it has entrants at 11 as well as 13 & 16 years. Today the school educates 560 boys with annual fees of £10,185 http://www.isbi.com/isbi-viewschool/1129-THE_JOHN_LYON_SCHOOL-1.html
