His parents were Sigismund III of Poland (1566-1632), and Constance of Austria Habsburg (1588-1631). John Casimir was thus the nephew of Ferdinand II, Holy Roman Emperor. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
