John Gwilliam
John Albert Gwilliam captained the Welsh Rugby Team when they achieved Grand Slams in 1950 and 1952. This achievement gained him entry into the Welsh Sports Hall of Fame in 2005.

He was born 28 February 1923 and attended Monmouth School and Trinity College, Cambridge. He was headmaster of Birkenhead School from 1963-1988, mainly remembered for his disciplinary standards and his rigid religious policy.
