Joey Arias

Joey Arias was the best friend and backup singer for Klaus Nomi, but he also designed his sets, costumes and the window of the Fiorucci's designer clothing store in New York City in the late 1970s. Arias then began to dabble in becoming his idol Billie Holiday, and recorded albums and performed in clubs as Holiday after Nomi's death in 1983. He has risen to become a succesful symbol and beacon for the transvestite/transexual community and is presently the Mistress of Events in the "Zumanity" show in Las Vegas which is part of Cirque du Soleil, but features risque circus acts, including musical performances by Joey Arias.
