Joe Monzo
Joe Monzo (born January 5, 1962) is an American microtonal composer and tuning-theorist who has authored books and multiple webpages on musical theory. He specializes in applying tuning-theory and computing to microtonal musical composition, and tutors people in computing and music composition. He was born and rasied in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and now lives in San Diego, California.

Monzo wrote the book "JustMusic: A New Harmony" in the mid-1990s, and the book-length webpage "A Century of New Music in Vienna" in the early 2000s, reflecting his deep admiration for and research into the work of composers Gustav Mahler and Arnold Schoenberg. In 2002 he became co-founder of Tonalsoft software company, and is author of the online Tonalsoft Encyclopedia of Microtonal Music Theory.
