Joe David Brown
Joe David Brown (12 May, 1915 - 22 April, 1976) was an American novelist and journalist from Birmingham, Alabama.

His novels included the Western, Stars In My Crown; the World War II drama, Kings Go Forth, which explored themes of male friendship and inter-racial relationships; and the Great Depression-era con artist comedy, Addie Pray. All of these were adapted into motion pictures, Addie Pray as Paper Moon. Brown served during the Second World War in the 517th Combat Team paratroopers and was recognized with the Purple Heart and the French Croix de Guerre with palm.
