Joan Chen, a.k.a. Chen Chong ({{zh-cp |c=陳沖 |p=Chén Chōng}}) (born April 26, 1961) is an actor and film director.

In China, the song, "I Love You, China", a perennial favorite of serious music lovers, is inextricably associated with Joan Chen who played the heroine in the film Overseas Compatriots (Chinese: ????) (1979) and, through her voice, the song was sung. Another song in the same film, High Flies the Petrel, was also sung by Joan Chen's role.

Born in Shanghai, China. At age eighteen she won the Golden Rooster award for acting in China. At age twenty she moved to the United States where she studied film at California State University, Northridge. In 1989, she became a naturalized citizen of the United States.
