Jimmy Davis (footballer)
Jimmy Davis (February 6, 1982 - August 9, 2003) was a footballer with Manchester United and the England youth teams, who was killed in a car crash in Oxfordshire in 2003.

Davis joined Manchester United as a trainee in July, 1999 and turned professional eight weeks later. He made his first team debut for the team in 2001 in the Worthington Cup against Arsenal.

Davis played on loan to Swindon in the 2002/03 season, making 15 appearances for the Second Division club and scoring three goals. He was extremely popular at the club and was loved by all the fans there.

He then returned to Old Trafford and was on the bench for the UEFA Champions League tie away to Deportivo La Coruna in March.

He joined Watford on a seasons loan in August, 2003, but was killed in an accident on the M40 in the early hours of August 9th, 2003, in Oxfordshire, when his BMW collided with a truck. Davis was pronounced dead at the scene, hours before Watford were due to open their season with a match against Coventry. Swindon fans were devastated and dedicated their 4-0 win over Notts County to the promising young player.
