Jewish Chronicle
Founded in 1841, the Jewish Chronicle (affectionately known as The JC) is one of two weekly national Jewish newspapers in the United Kingdom. It has played a central part in the development of British Jewry and has the distinction of being the oldest continuously published Jewish newspaper in the world. It is entirely independent and is owned by The Kessler Foundation, a charitable trust which has overall control of the newspaper and its assets. This has helped to protect it from hostile takeover, enabling it to uphold its editorial independence. The Chronicle is printed every Friday, providing news, opinions and social, cultural and sport reports, as well as an editorial and a spectrum of reader opinions on its letters page.
