Jerry Brown

Edmund Gerald Brown Jr. (born April 7, 1938), best known as Jerry Brown, is an American Democratic politician who has had a lengthy political career in the state of California.

Brown was born in San Francisco, California, the son of former Democratic governor Pat Brown. He graduated from St. Ignatius High School in that city, studied at Santa Clara University and for the Catholic priesthood at the Sacred Heart Novitiate, a Jesuit seminary. He received his B.A. degree in Latin and Greek from the University of California, Berkeley in 1961, and graduated from Yale Law School in 1964.
