Jerrold Gaylord Turner
Jerrold Gaylord Turner (1743-1802), associate of David Bushnell in the 1770's in the design of the penetrative screw for the Turtle (submarine), recognized as the first submarine used in a war (6th September, 1776, in New York Harbor, against H.M.S. Eagle).
