Jeffrey Guterman

Jeffrey Guterman (born April 26, 1958, and raised in Roslyn, New York) is a mental health counselor, educator, and author. In the 1980s, he was influenced by Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and received advanced training and supervision in the model from its founder Albert Ellis. In the 1990s, Guterman developed a solution focused brief therapy model called solution-focused counseling. This model is an integration of solution-focused principles and techniques, postmodern theories, and an eclectic approach.
