Jean de Thévenot

Jean de Thévenot (June 16, 1633 - November 28, 1667) was a French traveller in the East, who wrote extensively about his journeys. He was also a skilled linguist, a natural scientist and a botanist. He was born in Paris and received his education in the college of Navarre. He was a nephew of Melchisédech Thévenot.
