Jay Thomas


 

Jay Thomas is an American actor and disc jockey, who was born Jon (or John) Thomas on July 12, 1948, in Kermit, Texas, but raised in New Orleans, where he attended Jesuit High School, New Orleans.

He is perhaps best known for his recurring role on the NBC sitcom Cheers, on which he played Eddie LeBec, the second husband of Carla Tortelli (Rhea Perlman), from 1987 until 1989, when his character was killed off. Eddie was a goalie for the Boston Bruins.
