Java Anon Proxy
Java Anon Proxy, also known as Java Anonymous Proxy or JAP, is a proxy system designed to allow browsing the Web anonymously. It is based in Germany and was originally developed as part of the An ongoing project of the Dresden University of Technology and Privacy Commissioner of Schleswig-Holstein. Written in the Java programming language, its slogan is Anonymity and Privacy - Anonymity is not a crime.

InfoAnarchy tests of the program found that the JAP network is centralized and occasionally offline. When it is online, the service was described as fast.

In 2003, JAP backdoored by the German BKAhttp://lists.netsys.com/pipermail/full-disclosure/2003-August/009108.html. The backdoor was removed afterwards, but it led to people distrusting the software.

In May 2005, it was announced that the program works with the Tor network.
