Jason Voorhees

Jason Voorhees is a fictional character from the Friday the 13th films. He is the killer in all of the films, except for in the original Friday the 13th and '. With his trademark hockey mask, his machete, and leitmotif of an echoed "Ch-ch-ch, ha-ha-ha" in the soundtrack, Jason is easily among the most recognizable horror villains.

Childhood years

Jason was born on June 13, 1946 to Pamela and Elias Voorhees. He was born with a deformed face and misshapen jaw, which made him a target for cruelty from children his age. His mother, however, never noticed his deformity and loved him deeply.

In the summer of 1957 Jason attended Camp Crystal Lake, where his mother worked. One night Jason went out for a swim in the cold dark lake. He wasn't a very good swimmer and started drowning. The camp counselors were fooling around and didn't hear his cries for help. Jason slipped under the water and was washed away to another part of the forest. It is unclear whether he survived or died and came back to life, but he would later appear alive in his adulthood.
