Jasmine Trias


 

Jasmine Soriano Trias (born November 3 1986) is an Filipino American singer and entertainer who rose to fame as the third place finalist on the third season of American Idol, a talent-based reality program broadcast on the Fox Network.

Career

Trias officially signed with Clockwork Entertainment (who has worked with Dream and Bad Boy Records headed by P. Diddy) to record and produce her debut album. She has signed a deal with Universal Records for the album's release in the Philippines.

Her album, with Clockwork Entertainment, was released on July 12 in the US. It will be released at a later date in the Philippines and Japan.

She previously released a promotional single for McDonald's entitled "Love Ko 'To" (translated to I'm Loving It, the McDonald's slogan). To end her whirlwind visit to the Philippines, dubbed "Jasmania," she met President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, and she headlined tours in Manila, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Guam in 2004.

She moved to Los Angeles, California to kick-off her professional singing career. Before returning to American Idol, an entourage of hysterical and screaming fans, groupies, and supporters deluged the city's Sunset on the Beach.

Trias was a part of the JCPenney and Seventeen "Rock Your Prom" Fashion Show. She performed in Springfield, Missouri and Glendale, California in March 2005.

She is also currently releasing a CD-Single for Pizza Hut and Taco Bell entitled "Flying Home" and it captures her feelings of returning to Hawaii after months of working on tour and on her album.

Trias has sponsored McDonald's, Smart Telecommunications, Happee Toothpaste, and Bench Clothing. She has made television commericials and billboard ads for these companies in the Philippines. A promotion at McDonald's restaurants in the Philippines offered a meal dubbed the "Jasmine Trio", which consisted of a Strawberry Float, Fries, and the McDonald's exclusive Love Ko 'To CD-Single.

She has also done various commercials in Hawaii discouraging smoking, drinking, and drug/meth use.

Trias's self-titled debut album will be released in the United States on July 12, 2005. Trias worked with Clockwork Entertainment headed by CEO Debbie Hammond.

The album is expected to contain 14 tracks but the Philippines version will include bonus Tagalog tracks.
