Japan-British Exhibition (1910)
The Japan-British Exhibition of 1910 took place at White City and attracted 8 million visitors. It was the first time that Japan had taken part in a international event at this level.

The Chokushi-Mon (Gateway of the Imperial Messenger) was built for the exhibition and moved to Kew Gardens a year later. It is a four-fifths replica of the Karamon of Nishi Hongan-ji in Kyoto.
