She was born in Chicago, Illinois.

She succeeded in reaching the charts only in 1951 with three recordings she made for Decca Records. Her biggest hit was "Good Morning, Mr. Echo," in which she was billed as the "Jane Turzy Trio," really three tracks which she recorded in three different parts, in the style made famous by Patti Page and Mary Ford. She also had a version of "Sweet Violets," (competing with a recording by Dinah Shore) and a song named "I Like It."
