Jan Bro?ek

Jan Bro?ek (Joannes Broscius) (b. November 1, 1585 in Kurzel?w - November 21, 1652 in Bronowice, today suburb of Krak?w, Poland) was a Polish mathematician, physician and astronomer.

Rector of Jagiellonian University in Krak?w. Bro?ek contributed to a greater knowledge of Copernicus' theories. He was the most prominent Polish mathematician of the 17th century.
