James Shaffer

James Christian "Munky" Shaffer (born June 16, 1970 in Rosedale, California) is a guitarist with the band Ko?n.

Shaffer took up playing guitar as a part of his rehabilitation in the wake of an accident where the tip of his left finger was severed by a bike chain.

The nickname "Munky" is a reference to his feet; apparently when spread out they resemble monkey hands, as said in the multi platinum video, "Who Then Now?".

He uses mostly Ibanez Guitars (his signature is the K7 7-string model) and Mesa Boogie & Diezel Amplifiers
