James Mathison
James Hernandez Mathison (born January 1978 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia) is the host of the highly successful Network Ten reality television programme Australian Idol.

He attended St. Augustine's College, where he was named school captain in his final year. After leaving school, he worked in menial jobs and then spent a year on exchange in Equador before applying for a job at Channel . James has worked at Channel V for the past few years and has since become a household name in Australia after sharing hosting duties of Australian Idol with his fellow Channel V co-star, Andrew G. James names Keith Richards amongst his idols and his favourite career highlight was interviewing The Rolling Stones in Chicago.
