James Mangold
James Mangold (born December 1964) is an American film director best known for the independent film Heavy, winner of the best directing prize at Sundance; Cop Land starring Sylvester Stallone, Robert DeNiro, Harvey Keitel and Ray Liotta; Girl, Interrupted, which won the best Actress Oscar in 1999 for Angelina Jolie; and the 2003 thriller Identity starring John Cusack. His next film, Walk the Line, is a musical about the life of singer-songwriter Johnny Cash. It stars Joaquin Pheonix and Reese Witherspoon and is due in theaters in November 2005.
