James Laughlin
James Laughlin was an American poet, publisher, and man of letters.

He was born October 30, 1914 in Pennsylvania and died November 12, 1997.

He was the son of Henry Hughart and Marjory Rea Laughlin. He won the 1992 Distinguished Contribution to American Letters Award from the National Book Awards Program. He founded of the publishing company New Directions Publishers in 1936.
