James Forman


 

James Forman (October 4, 1928 - January 10, 2005) was an American civil rights leader. He served in the Air Force in Okinawa during the Korean War. He was executive secretary of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee from 1961 to 1965, helping to make the institution politically important at the height of the civil rights movement.
