Jakie Astor

John Jacob "Jakie" Astor (born August 29, 1918) is a British politician and sportsman and a member of the prominent Astor family.

Jakie Astor is the youngest child of Waldorf Astor and Nancy Witcher Langhorne. He was educated at Eton and New College, Oxford and served in the British military during World War II.

He has been married three times, the first in 1944 to Ana Inez Carcano. The couple had two children: Michael Ramon Langhorne Astor (born 1946) and Stella Astor (born 1949). Divorced in 1972, he remarried in 1976 to Susan Eveleigh and then Marcia de Savary in 1988.

In 1945, he tried to win the Plymouth Sutton seat in the British House of Commons that had been held by his mother. Unsuccessful at first, he won the seat in 1951 as a member of the Conservative Party.
