Islam in China
China is home to a large population of practioners of Islam. Sources, including the BBC, suggest that there may be as many as 20 million Muslims in China, up to 2% of the country's 1.2 billion population. The biggest titularly Muslim ethnic group in China is the Hui, while others include the Uyghurs and the Kazakhs. The largest concentration is found in China's northwestern Xinjiang autonomous region.
