Irv Gotti


 
 

Irv Gotti (born Irving Lorenzo) is a prominent hip hop and R&B record producer and is the head of the Murder Inc. record label. He has signed and/or produced such prominent acts as Ja Rule, Ashanti, Vita, Caddillac Tah, Charli Baltimore, and Bobby Brown. He has appeared in music videos for Ashanti's "Foolish" and Ja Rule's "Down 4 U."

In 2003, Gotti changed the name of his label from Murder Inc. to "The Inc," but it is still known popularly as Murder Inc.

In 2004, The Inc came under investigation for allegedly laundering money through the label for New York City drug kingpin and childhood friend "Supreme" McGriff. On January 25 2005, Gotti and his brother Chris turned themselves in, alleging their innocence.
