Iraqi Transitional Government
The Iraqi Transitional Government replaced the Iraqi Interim Government on May 3, 2005, after being approved (a partial composition, as some ministerial posts remained unfilled for some days) by the transitional National Assembly on April 28. The transition began with the election of the transitional National Assembly on January 30, 2005. Iraqi leaders hope to establish a complete government, and to draft a national constitution by August 15, 2005. The Iraqi Transitional Government does not have a right to delay the next elections by more than six months.
