It is notable as it was the first Test playing team to play an entire tour (32 matches including the 5 Tests) without losing a match, although it should be noted that the English sides were more weakened by the effects of the Second World War than the Australian side. It was also 40 year old Bradman's farewell tour. Various commentators have rated it as one of the best cricket teams ever, although it is usually rated below the 1902 Australian touring party.
