Interscope Records
Interscope Records is a record label which was started in 1990 by Jimmy Iovine and Ted Fields with financial support from Atlantic Records (who owned 50% of the label). In 1992 Jimmy Iovine assisted Death Row Records financially and reached a distribution deal with them through Interscope. Under pressure from activist groups hostile to gangsta rap music, Atlantic sold its stake in 1995. Interscope linked itself then with MCA Records, the label is currently owned by the Universal Music Group.
