Intellectual

An intellectual is a person who uses his or her intellect to study, reflect, or speculate on a variety of different ideas.

The label of intellectualism is traditionally more consistently applied to to those who study fields related to the arts and humanities than it is to those who study fields related to the natural sciences, applied sciences, mathematics or engineering
