Inglorious Bastards
Inglorious Bastards is expected to be the next feature film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino after Kill Bill. In a September, 2005 interview Tarantino said it will "probably" be the film he makes after Grind House, but that the screenplay was a year from being ready http://www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles/1510005/09202005/story.jhtml.

Inglorious Bastards will star Michael Madsen as Babe Buchinksy, but Tarantino has said that no other casting has been done, and that all other casting reports are nothing more than speculation. The title is taken from a 1977 movie by the Italian director Enzo G. Castellari called Quel maledetto treno blindato, known in the United States with the title Inglorious Bastards, although Tarantino's film is not thought to be a remake, but more of an homage to that film, as well as The Dirty Dozen and other war movies.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Tarantino revealed that one of the projects he worked on in the six years in between the releases of Jackie Brown and Kill Bill was trying to hammer Inglorious Bastards down as a script. In the process, however, he ended up not writing a conventional 100- to 200-page script, but a six-hundred page work of three feature-length parts, which could presumably be shot and released as a three-part film, similar to the two-part film Kill Bill. However, Tarantino has also said a great deal of work remains to be done on the script, and the final form is far from decided.

Set in World War II, the story revolves around a group of soldiers on their way to be executed, when they get the chance of a reprieve. Tarantino has described them as "not your normal hero types that are thrown into a big deal in World War II."
