Imperial Way Faction
The Imperial Way Faction (Kodoha) was a right-wing nationalist Japanese political grouping, active in the 1930s. It was largely supported by the military, in particular by junior officers of the Imperial Japanese Army. This political organization promoted totalitarianism, militarism and expansionism, as doctrine.

It was the political wing for the Japanese military, aiming to direct the civil government. Sadao Araki was a founder, principal thinker in themovement and party chief; he held real power, and Hideki Tojo, another ideologist and the next party leader, in 1941 became the effective dictator in Japan, with command of Imperial forces during the first periods of the Pacific War, until the Saipan disaster in 1944.

This group represented the third corner in a trinity of Japanese establishment institutions: the great landowners, military,radical followers and industry supporters(Gumbatsu),. Another name was Kodoshugisha (Imperial Way), Imperial War Faction or War Party.
