Ibrahim Baré Maïnassara (May 9, 1949 - April 9, 1999) was a military officer in the West African country of Niger who overthrew the government of President Mahamane Ousmane on January 27, 1996.

He was elected president on July 7 - 8, 1996, taking 52% of the vote in a contest widely viewed as fraudulent. He was sworn in on August 7. On April 9, 1999, he was assassinated by soldiers at the airport in the capital city of Niamey during a coup d'etat led by Daouda Malam Wanké, who became his successor as head of state.
