Hunt County is a county located in the state of Texas. As of 2000, the population is 76,596. Its county seat is Greenville6. Hunt County is named for Memucan Hunt, a secretary of the navy under the Republic of Texas. The county is part of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
