Howard McNear


 

Howard McNear (January 27, 1905January 3, 1969) was an American film, television and radio character actor. He was born in Los Angeles, California and died in the San Fernando Valley, from the effects of a stroke.

He was best known for playing Floyd Lawson on The Andy Griffith Show; he also portrayed Charles "Doc" Adams on CBS Radio's Gunsmoke (1952-1961) as well as International Secret Police ace operator Clint Barlow in the 1938-1940 radio serial "Speed Gibson of the International Secret Police".
