Howard Cosell
Howard Cosell, born Howard William Cohen (March 25, 1918, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina – April 23, 1995 in New York, New York), was a well-known sports journalist on American television. His abrasive personality, propensity for malapropisms and other subtle misuse of the English language and distinctive nasally voice made him, according to one poll, both the most-liked and most-hated TV reporter in the country, which was featured to fine comic effect in a sports-themed episode of the ABC TV series The Odd Couple, starring Jack Klugman and the late Tony Randall.
