Houma, Louisiana

The city of Houma (pronounced home'ah) is the parish seat of Terrebonne Parish, in the US state of Louisiana. The city's powers of government have been absorbed by the parish, which is now run by the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 32,393.
