Hopkins County is a county located in the state of Kentucky. As of 2000, the population is 46,519. Its county seat is Madisonville6. The county is named for General Samuel Hopkins, officer in both the Revolutionary War and War of 1812; Kentucky legislator; U.S. Congressman.
